KATHRYN L. REYNOLDS

Katy is an entrepreneur whose focus is to provide comprehensive resource-efficient solutions to build resilient communities. Through her vision and leadership, she founded Shibusa Systems to optimize the way high-performance homes are designed and built – more economically, more sustainably, and faster.
Katy has over 35 years of executive experience in investment banking, corporate strategy, and operational management. Early in her career, she spent nearly 15 years working for Merrill Lynch in international investment banking and then international corporate strategy before moving into private equity. While working for the private equity firm Pegasus Capital Advisors, she was CFO of the publicly traded company Lighting Science. Throughout her career, Katy has participated in many leadership forums, including Merrill Lynch’s first women’s leadership forum in 1999.
Currently, Katy serves on the Advisory Board to the Political Economy department at the University of California, Berkeley, where she received her B.A. in Political Economy. She is also a member of Chief, the largest network of C-Suite women leaders across industries and around the world.
MICHAEL C. GWYNN
Co-founder, Chief Technology & Innovation Officer
Michael has over 35 years of operations leadership covering business management and strategy, information technology, engineering, logistics, and manufacturing across technology startups to legacy industrial organizations. Most recently at GE Digital, he developed and optimized the engineering operations for a 600+ team building a cloud-based Brilliant Manufacturing platform for legacy manufacturing execution systems.
Before GE Digital, Michael spent 13 years at Cisco Systems leading several operational transformations including operationalizing the management of the IT portfolio, revamping customer entitlement recovering $100M in lost opportunity, and implementing a shared services model for a 5,000+ sales organization.
Mike is a native of the Bay Area and graduated from the University of California, Berkeley where he received his B.A. in Political Economy. He is passionate about mentoring and has helped coach the San Ramon High School girls’ varsity basketball team, successfully leading the team to the CA State Finals.
RICK TALLMAN
Director of Business Development and Building Science
Rick has a proven track record in net-zero energy (NZE) design and development, renewable power generation, and water infrastructure projects. His experience encompasses sustainable technology finance and investment, notably with Tallman Pacific.
Holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) and a Master of Science (MS) degree from the Colorado School of Mines, specializing in Geologic and Hydrologic Engineering.
